Michael S. Booze is an experienced oil and gas professional and attorney with a career spanning land services, brokerage, corporate leadership, and legal practice. He began his career working as a landman while attending law school at the University of Oklahoma, where he developed a strong foundation in deal-making, title analysis, and lease acquisition. Following graduation, Mr. Booze joined Continental Resources, Inc. as an in-house landman, where he gained extensive experience managing land assets, negotiating complex transactions, and supporting operational and development initiatives across multiple plays and basins both onshore and offshore. Mr. Booze’s career at Continental coincided with the U.S. Shale Revolution, where he played a significant role in shaping the industry as we know it, including participating in drafting the Shale Reservoir Development Act, now known as the Extended Horizontal Development Act. After leaving Continental, Mr. Booze served as Vice President of Latigo Oil & Gas, Inc., overseeing strategic growth, asset management, and day-to-day operations. In that role, he was directly involved in acquisitions, divestitures, leasing programs, and regulatory compliance. Since 2017, Mr. Booze has practiced law with a focus on oil and gas and real property, representing clients at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, in transactional matters, title issues, and litigation. In 2021, Mr. Booze was instrumental in securing changes to the Oil and Gas Lien Owners Act of 2010 which strengthened protections for Oklahoma mineral owners. Mr. Booze also serves as General Counsel for Pioneer Telephone Cooperative, Inc. and Wentworth Operating Company, and is Vice-Chairman of the Oklahoma Energy Producers Alliance. His diverse background—spanning fieldwork, corporate leadership, and legal practice—provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the industry and a pragmatic perspective in advising clients.
